In April this year part L to the Building Regulations is to be revised pushing towards zero carbon buildings. As with previous changes there will be a cost implication to building projects as well as a more complex route to compliance.
New homes will require to be 6% more efficient than current levels and non domestic Buildings 9% more efficient.
It will therefore be advisable to register any projects in the pipeline before April.
Please remember MFA Building Control to not charge for registration and plan checking of projects.
MFA Building Control will be holding a seminar on the update to part L at The Mackworth Hotel on 5th February. This will be provided in conjunction with Midland Energy Services. Please contact Jill Grey at our offices should you wish to attend.
