MFA are licensed by the
Construction Industry Council to carry out Building Control work on any type
of work from small domestic extensions to large commercial projects anywhere
in England and Wales. The only exception to this is certain types of new
housing.
New Housing
MFA can work on newly
created dwellings provided they are for:-
1) an owner/occupier
2) holiday lets
3) dwellings covered by an Approved Building Warranty.
Approved Building
Warranties
For new houses and flats
for sale or rent the developer is required to register each plot with one of
the following Government Approved Warranty Providers:
1. NHBC (www.NHBCBuilder.co.uk)
2. Zurich Municipal (www.zurich.co.uk/municipal)
3. Premier Guarantee (www.premierguarantee.co.uk)
4. BLP (www.blpinsurance.com)
Developments must be registered with one of the above before applications
are submitted to MFA. Please provide with your application details of the
warranty provider and developers registration number (provided by the
warranty provider) and the individual plot policy numbers.
